Ducane 300108 Stainless Steel Grill Pan Review

Ducane 300108 Stainless Steel Grill PanThe seller of this product did a disservice to themselves and to potential customers with the lack of information on the product.I will try to fill in the blanks.First, the dimensions of the product are 18" X 13", with a cooking surface of 16" X 12".The steel is thick, thicker than the Weber grill pan 6435 and half the price.I like the design better than the Weber.

This was purchased as a gift and I have not used this pan.I don' know if it will warp in high heat or rust but I am not expecting problems.Update to follow after it has been used for a week or 2.

Based on what I have seen so far, highly recommended.

Weber 3870001 Genesis S-310 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless Steel Review

Weber 3870001 Genesis S-310 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless SteelI have had 5 or so BBQ's in the last 26 yrs. The cheap ones like Charm Glow only lasted a year or so. About 10 years ago I got a Weber Sprit BBQ and it last until this year. I was able to rebuild the flavor bars and grill twice in that 10 year period. Weber is great in that you can get parts for old BBQ's. However, I live near the beach and BBQ a lot. The Sprit had an aluminum box and porclin coated iron parts for the grill and flavor bars. These parts rusted out and /or corroded. So this time I wanted a BBQ that was ALL stainless. In looking arround I found several makes that claimed to be stainless but had many nonstainless parts. The Weber Gennesis was expensive but is ALL stainless. Assemby was fairly easy but the diagrams (no writen instructions)take some studing at each step. Total time to assemble was 2.5 hr. This grill is well made and does a terrific job of BBQing. It is not cheap but I belive it is worth the money in the long run. The S310 is a little big for my use and I would have liked a two burner Sprit sized BBQ but they do not make that size in stainless.

Weber 7507 Stainless-Steel Burner Tube Set Review

Weber 7507 Stainless-Steel Burner Tube SetMy grill has not been generating enough heat for a while. Cleaning the burner tubes hasn't helped. Lately I have had to scrape tongs along the burner to get the flame to go across. Decided to replace the guts with stainless replacements. Took about 20 minutes to install and the grill is as good as new.

Weber Style 6435 Professional Grade Grill PanThis pan saved our grill! We have a low-end gas grill that was given to me and my husband as a Christmas gift.No matter what settings we tried it would either burn the food or leave it raw. With this pan, we can turn the heat up to where it should be and the food doesn't burn! The only downside is that it is a bear to clean.Other people have recommended Easy Oven Off but I haven't tried that yet.

Weber 3880001 Genesis S-320 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless Steel Review

Weber 3880001 Genesis S-320 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless SteelThe Weber was top rated by a consumer testing firm and they are right.

It cooks great, has lots of power and can also cook at low temps.

I owned my last Weber for over 15 years and love this new one.

You can spend less and get lower quality and more for a bigger grill; but this grill looks great, cooks great and is big enough for most peoples needs.

Weber 7508 Stainless-Steel Burner Tube Set Review

Weber 7508 Stainless-Steel Burner Tube SetI have a 2001 Weber Genesis Silver B, and last year it started being reluctant to heat quickly and all the way to 600.Last week the grill never got hotter than about 400, so I knew something was wrong.I took the grill apart and looked at the flame, and it was fairly yellow. Also, the bar that connects the three main burners wasn't working to transfer the flame from one bar to another.

I bought this set from Amazon and installed it today. You have to take the grill apart, including taking the control panel off, the manifold off, disconnect the gas, take the flavor bars and grates out, etc. After I had everything uninstalled I elected to drag mine out in the yard and pressure wash it.After it dried I installed the new burners, new flavor bars, new grates, etc.I went all stainless this time. The flame coming out of the new burners is blue, and is very hot.I also put a new starter in, and the grill starts so nice and easy and the bar that connects the three burners transfered the flame from one burner to another. It reminded me of when I first bought it.The grill heated up to 500 in about 5 minutes...a night and day difference from before.

You might think I'm crazy for investing $160 in grill parts, after all some grills only cost $160 for the entire grill.I know that my Silver B is good for another 5 years at least, and I LOVE this grill.Who knows when they'll stop making parts for these grills?

Anyway, my advice to you is if you have a Weber gas grill that is more than 6 years old and you haven't replaced the burners yet, and you are experiencing any of the symptoms I described, don't hesitate to put in new burners. It's relatively easy, and it makes a huge difference.

Outset QS71 Stainless Steel Large 17" x 11" Grill Grid with Handles Review

Outset QS71 Stainless Steel Large 17' x 11' Grill Grid with HandlesI was skeptical when ordering this Grill Grid, because I already purchased a less expensive one a year or so ago, but this one is money well spent. It is truly heavy duty - it can be used time and again during the same grilling session without warping from the heat. Although it is stainless steel (instead the base metal Non-stick), cleanup is relatively easy, and discoloration from the heat is minimal. The grid I bought prior to this one was supposed to be Non-stick, but it just wasn't so, even with pretreating according to the instructions. The other thing the I really like about this one is the size - I am able to put several pieces of shrimp or other seafood items on it at one time without "overcrowding", yet it is small enough that it can easily moved to and from the grill with ease. This company pays alot of attention to detail in terms of fit and finish. GJM

Mr. Bar-B-Q 18-Piece Stainless-Steel Grill Tool Set Review

Mr. Bar-B-Q 18-Piece Stainless-Steel Grill Tool SetIn theory this is a nice set, and I like all of the different tools -- but I bought this as a gift, and I'm going to return it.It just looks too cheap. The wooden handles are chipped in some places, there's almost no finish on them, and the plastic case is really flimsy and cheap looking.Perhaps if I was buying them for myself I wouldn't mind, but I'd be embarrassed to give this as a gift.

Weber Style 6445 Professional-Grade Stainless-Steel 3-Piece Barbeque Tool Set Review

Weber Style 6445 Professional-Grade Stainless-Steel 3-Piece Barbeque Tool SetWe've owned one too many grill tool sets. The ones I remember are: a gigantic wooden set where the tools were heavy, awkward, and the wood was rotting and worn. The 2nd set was worse: we got metal but it had so many joints that recently it fell apart while grilling! So I was in the market for a good brand, all metal SOLID construction (no seams), dishwasher safe, and lastlyand least important attractive isn't bad.I searched local stores and they had so little stock, mostly wood sets which I wanted to avoid.

I was impressed when I opened the Amazon box.Quality thick metal, attractive, looked long & large and perfect for hot grills. My husband's very impressed and said grilling with them was 'perfect'.You can't see it in the picture very well but there's a non-slip coating on the bottom of each tool, which is nice (as long as it doesn't fall apart.)We washed the set in the dishwasher already (on top rack) and they turned out brand new looking. The only thing you need to add to this set is a grill brush for cleaning.

I was torn between this set and the All-Clad set.Obviously the All-Clad is over triple the price so I went with this set and was pleased. If for some reason this set dies prematurely, I will be forced to buy the All-Clad as I am sick of rebuying the same thing. But thankfully, for now, I didn't have to & saved money.I love the quality!

This is my first Weber product and I must say I am thrilled. If my grill dies I will most likely buy a Weber.

Try this set out; I bet you'll be pleased.

Update: 6 months later, the set's holding up beautiful and cleans up nicely in dishwasher.A great purchase.

Update: 1 year later, looks just as it did when it was new!Buy this one.

In addition, hanging loops on the end of each handle allow for keeping the tools within reach and conveniently stored when not in use. Made of professional-grade stainless steel, the tools not only look great, but they also promise high-quality performance for years to come. Weber 7527 Stainless Steel Replacement Cooking Grates Review

Weber 7527 Stainless Steel Replacement Cooking GratesIf you have a Weber grille with the original el-cheapo porcelain coated grates, this is the item to buy! The grates do discolor after the first use but that doesnt affect the performance of them. The heat distribution is nice and even. The old porcelain coated grates wear out the coating, rust and warp. The stainless steel replacements are actually what Weber should have included when the grille was new especially considering what they ask for the grille brand new. I will be replacing any component with the stainless as the original parts go bad.

Weber 7537 Stainless Steel Flavorizer Bars Review

Weber 7537 Stainless Steel Flavorizer BarsThese are not cheap, but they are very heavy and will last a long time.

A little tip - while replacing my old ones, I noticed that only one was really worn, the other four were in good shape; so rotating the most worn bar to a different position (before significant wear) would enable the set to last longer.

Weber 3770001 Genesis S-310 LP Gas Grill, Stainless Steel Review

Weber 3770001 Genesis S-310 LP Gas Grill, Stainless SteelI grill almost everyday in summer and quite a bit even in the winter. So I tend to be a bit hard on my grills and I had never really spent much on my grills and I replace every 2-4 years. This time around though, I fell in love with some of the newer stainless steel grills out there and on some of them it appears that you get more than from Weber: more grilling space, or more BTUs, or just bigger. So I decided to go digging a bit.

I checked consumer reports and this Weber grill is rated the #1 grill out there for the following reasons:

a) very even heating
b) quick heating
c) very solid construction
d) low propensity for flareups

Consumer reports brought out some of the more glaring shortfalls to other grills that were not easily apparent then blinded by all that stainless steel at the local warehouse store.Armed with some consumer reports data I went back to the local stores that have these grills and I started to see what they were saying: plastic where Weber was aluminium, solid doors vs thin with empty backing, open cabinets where Weber has fully enclosed cabinet, cast steel casing where Weber's is Aluminium.Try as I might, I couldn't find the exact model I wanted so after much deliberation I bought the Webber Genesis S-310 from Amazon.I always order from Amazon but I was a bit hesitant to order due to a review of someone getting a dented grill. But since I really wanted the S-310 and I trust Amazon, I went ahead and ordered and everything arrived perfect (Thank you Amazon and Eagle - whoever you are).

The Bad:
1) It arrived in a box factory disassembled into a bunch of parts

The Good:
1) It was very well packaged in the box (additionally, most stainless parts had a plastic film to keep from scratching)
2) It shipped and arrived very quickly (within 3 days of ordering - standard shipping)
3) No dings or scratches on the grill or even on the box (Eagle did a great job on this one)
4) The fact that the grill was disassembled - which allowed me to get to know the grill as I assembled it and raelly appreciate the construction
5) Instructions were clear
6) I have to say that in putting this grill together took about one hour of work and it really had me appreciate the strength of Weber's construction on this product. Its frankly amazing how well constructed this grill is.
7) Construction of this grill is made of stainless steel and cast aluminium with plastic only in the wheels (which are very tough), hose, knobs and a couple of small fittings.
8) The undercarriage is enclosed on all four sides with gorgeous stainless doors which are thick and fully whose back is also stainless.
9)Many details were taken into account, there are adjustments so that the knobs are fully centered.
10) There's a chain to hold a lighting match and the lighting hole is neatly placed on the front right corner of the grill although the grill has electronic ignition.
11) The temperature guage was placed in the front center of the grill and is large and easy to see.
12) The knobs are located on top of the grill which is fantastic if you have small children. It makes it much harder for children to reach the knobs and turn them
13) It doesn't come with a tank (I have 3 so that wasn't a problem)
14) Comes with a drip pan
15) It doesn't have brickettes but comes with very highly angled triangular baffles to cover the burners...the angle of the baffles lessens the likelihood of flareups because grease falls down before it catches on fire
16) Very good warranty on all materials and workmanship
17) It has a tank measure so you know when you're low on propane
18) This grill gets hot.I turned it on high and turned around for a few minutes and it was up to 650 degrees and the flavorizer bars were glowing bright red hot....wow -- never had a grill do that before!
19) Very even heating. The burners run left to right on this grill vs front to back.Always in the past, I've had a problem with the back of my grill being hotter than the front. With this grill the heating is more even. There are pros and cons of left to right arrangement of burners vs front to back and probably beyond this review just be aware potential buyer --- left to right works very well for me and I find I can do indirect cooking nicely too.

Grilling with this product is fantastic. This is the best grill I have ever owned and I'm glad I own a Weber Genesis S-310.You might find cheaper grills or bigger grills for the same money or higher BTUs but overall, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a "better grill" out there.

I was apprehensive at ordering such a large product from Amazon but amazed at how fast I got it and the store perfect condition it arrived in.One very happy Weber Owner and Amazon shopper.

Cobb Premier Portable Stainless Steel Grill & Smoker Review

Cobb Premier Portable Stainless Steel Grill & SmokerI've had mine for about a month now, and have done 3 chickens, 2 tri-tip roasts and a DOUBLE rack of Baby-backs... and am gearing up to try baking/smoking a pile of shortribs soon.

So far, I have only used the roasting rack to cook with...wet mesquite chips wrapped in heavy alum. foil in the firebasket smoke the meat nicely, just perfect.Surprised compliments from everyone who've tasted the results. Chicken, in 1 1/2 to 2 hours, comes out so tender you'll wonder if it's really done (it is). The Babybacks smoked up wonderful and were as tender as you'd want.

I'm a tri-tip guy, and all my friends step back in respect when I approach a grill with a Tri-tip in hand. I'm good at it.This Cobb Grill makes the best I've ever had.

Pro's:

*Convenient for apartments, small patios, any lifestyle or condition when you want the BBQ to come out and go back to stashed away. It is small, compact, all the accoutrements fit comfortably into the carrying case, even the extra accessories you might buy.Speaking of which, search the internet for the cheapest roasting rack...some will sell this wire rack for $39...it's about an $6 item, but if you can find one for $15, get one. You'll use it for roasting and allows you to NOT need to turn over the ribs, chicken, etc. during the cooking process. It's probably the most convenient of all the accessories.

*Easy setup, easy stash. Minimal fuel (10-12 briquettes).

*A moat! You can add water, soda, beer, etc., in the built-in moat and you get results like doing a Beer-can chicken. Most moist and great taste for everything. Results are great.

*Easy to smoke meats.Add your wet chips to the firebowl when you put on the meat.I've been using about 2 tablespoons of chips for a nice amount of smoke flavor.

*Both portable and movable. Not only is this little thing really portable, it can be moved anytime during the grilling by just picking it up with your bare hands. Its sides are cool. It's halfway to 'Kid-Friendly' and is a pretty safe grill to have around kids. The dome is hot, but the sides are not. This is especially handy if you want to shuffle ribs or flip some meat halfway thru cooking...I just pick it up and carry it to the kitchen where I can flip things without making a mess...then I take it outside again.Very handy!

*Set it and Ferget it. The nice thing is that you don't have to bother with the grill while its cooking.Go party.Relax.All you need is a timer to figure out when its all done. Because you are using a moat and liquid (if you do) it's hard to over-cook anything.

I haven't tried doing a plain steak yet, or hamburgers, without the lid...that's next week's project.

Cons:Expensive.I bought mine on sale for $85 and was lucky to get it at that. The accessories are expensive. The wok, the frying pan are well designed and might be worth the loot, but the roasting rack is just a wire grid who's legs happen to fit into the ring-holes of the included grill plate. At the mfg. cost of the wire rack, they should be throwing this thing in for free.Once you get your unit home, you can look for workable racks in thrift shops.

You can still find the earlier models, with the black plastic sides, available at a steep discount, around $50.These would be worth getting to save money. The new models are the ones with the stainless mesh sides.

*Cleaning. If you throw some sliced lemons in the moat-water, cleanup will be easier. The thing should to be cleaned after each use, which could be problematic for RV'rs.The quality non-stick grill surfaces are no problem, but the wire racks and the main steel bowl can need lotsa water or some soaking. You can rough clean it with paper towels and finish it at home, if you're off camping. Dawn Direct Foam works really well.

*Slow cooking, lower heat.Because it uses lower heat for a longer time, figure that it's going to be 2 hours for a chicken or a tri-tip, 2 1/2 hours for ribs unless you want to refill the firebox and go for 4 hours. That includes the 1/2 hour for the coals to get right.*Charcoal starter matches make things easier, so when you find them for sale, buy several boxes. The matches found on the Cobb site are overpriced. They run about $2.50 a box in grocery stores, and there are two kinds, the giant ones and the smaller ones.8 to the box and 20 to the box, respectively. 2 big ones do it, or 4 small ones will light your charcoal just fine. DON'T leave the dome on while the charcoal is flaming/lighting, you'll start to melt the top handle (my stupid). Leave the dome off to speed the charcoal lighting.

All in all, I think this is an ideal charcoal grill that almost guarantees you'll wow yourself, your family and friends with the incredible results. It's slightly different cooking than the normal charcoal BBQ grill, so you'll learn to make your cooking adjustments...and you'll love the results. I would (and do) recommend this little baby to anyone who'll listen. My friends all recommend my using this as often as they can talk me into it.
7/17/2010..........And now I've had it for awhile...just got back in town after being on the road for a bit....the first thing I did when I 'unhitched' was to fire up the Cobb and slam a Tri Tip on it.I'm still using it, still loving it, it's still in great shape, and still does a great job.My favorite seasoning is still Santa Maria Tri Tip Seasoning by Righetti Specialties, and a healthy dose of Bacon Salt never hurts nothing!Love this grill.
