I am originally from Switzerland. We had some guests visiting over Christmas and New Year. The plan was to celebrate an American Christmas and the next day a Swiss Christmas. The raclette oven seemed like the best choice for the second event... Everyone loved it. We put all different kinds of meat on the top grill and melted cheese in the bottom part. Of course the traditional potatoes etc were served too. There was enough room for the 8 of us. It's great if you don't want to spend the whole night in the kitchen preparing the dinner and miss out on the fun. If you have a big table and you want to keep it in the middle you'll probably need to get an extension cord. Also, the oven smokes a little bit when you plug it in the first time!
