This griddle is more than heavy enough to conduct heat properly while being light enough for my slightly arthritic hands to handle safely. I have a ceramic cooktop and the manufacturer recommends only stainless, copper or glass cookware. It was difficult to find a griddle for pancakes, particularly for a reasonable price, and this griddle fills the bill nicely.
