Outdoor Great Room Cook Number Series Electric Grills Review

Outdoor Great Room Cook Number Series Electric GrillsFor someone like myself who wants a solid well constructed grill, this is a fine candidate. I like the versatility that comes with the griddle on the side. The porcelain covered grates appear very sturdy.

On the down side, as one of the few people in North American who read the owners manual, I was very disappointed. The book was not very helpful in laying out the workings of the grill. For example, I had to find out the hard way that the temperature dial is only for the probe and is NOT a thermostat for the heating element. Using a temperature probe is like cooking with training wheels and I see that as a useless feature. The manufacturer does in fact state how the grill can get to 500 degrees but no other control is available. This makes the prospect of making chicken or something of that sort that requires a lower temperature a bit questionable. But I will give it a whirl. But a VERY serious word of warning, DO NOT use the top of the grease catcher!!!!the material can not be properly cleaned and will cause fires!!! just line the grease tray with foil on each use and you'll be fine.

The manufacturer could not have been more accommodating, helpful and wonderful in answering my inquiries.

So far I can't take issue with performance or function and give this grill a thumbs up

Product Description:
Safe to use inside or out, this portable electric grill works great when cooking with friends in the backyard, on a balcony, in an RV, or just about anywhere. The appliance delivers the same power as a full-size grill, but it runs on ordinary household current--simply plug it in for grilling, roasting, convection baking, and more. In minutes, it can reach temperatures up to 500 degrees F for searing meat or fillets. The unit features a built-in food probe and an exclusive Cook Number System with 10 precise settings that indicate when food has been cooked to perfection. Its Cook Number technology and thermodynamic design provide cleaner, greener grilling that leaves virtually no carbon footprint. In addition, the high-efficiency electric grill conserves energy and costs only 10 to 15 cents per hour to use. Compare that to as much as $1.50 an hour for ordinary 30,000-BTU gas grills or up to $3 an hour for 60,000-BTU grills. Other highlights include 250 square inches of cooking space, a searing temperature control knob, and a slide-out grease drawer and aluminum tray for easy cleanup. Optional grill carts can be purchased separately, and the unit requires proper ventilation when used indoors. The electric grill measures 19 by 21 by 9 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.
