We purchased this to replace our trusty Genesis Silver B with cast-iron grates. After 10 years of frequent use, I was looking for something with more flexibility and capacity. I also had grown tired of the rust issues with the cast iron grates (yes, I know about 'seasoning'), but wanted to retain the high heat advantages that cast iron offers. The Summit S-470 has more than met my expectations. If you plan to feed a small army, consider the 600-series, but for most backyard uses the 400-series has *plenty* of usable grill area.
Key advantages:
* High-quality stainless construction. Unlike the lower-cost Weber grills and virtually *all* of the competitive alternatives, the Summit grills are made mostly of 304-grade stainless steel. This has much higher nickel content, and as a result is substantially more corrosion resistant (and more expensive). The easiest way to identify cheap stainless is that it is magnetic (so take a magnet when you compare grills). Improved corrosion resistance means that the exterior will remain beautiful for years, and the grates will last indefinitely.
* 7 independent burners on the S-470 (in addition to the side burner). Four main burners, one searing burner, one burner for the built-in stainless smoke box, and one infrared burner on the rear cover. All except the infrared burner run front-to-back. With most of them active, the grill reaches >700 degrees F in ten minutes. This provides incredible flexibility. Extremely high direct heat, completely indirect heat, crispy skin on rotisserie, lots of smoke at low heat, only part of the grill at high heat, etc... - no problem. You are limited only by your imagination, not your tools.
* Extremely thick (9.5mm) grates provide excellent searing and heat retention. These work at least as well as the cast-iron grates on our old grill, but are much easier to maintain.
* High double-wall lid. This makes the grill space under the warming rack actually usable! The double-wall substantially improves performance in cold or rainy weather, and requires less gas to keep the grill hot under all conditions.
* Pop-up rotisserie. It is extremely easy to use, and quickly folds away in a weather-protected stainless pocket. Other thoughtful touches include obvious hanging storage areas for the spit and spikes in the cabinet.
* Rodent-resistant cabinet. The cabinet has double-walled doors with secure magnetic latches, lots of ventilation, and no gaping holes.
Issues:
* Very Expensive. Even on sale, the S-470 is about 3x the cost of a Genesis grill. Only you can decide if the extra flexibility is worth the extra cost. In our case I expect to get 15+ years out of this grill, and the cost is comparable to some good-quality kitchen appliances. However, the very high cost is the main reason I give this grill only 4 stars.
* Side burner has limited heat range. Presumably to prevent blow-outs that would cause safety issues, the range on the side burner is only hot to very hot. Simmering at low heat is basically impossible. For my next trick I plan to try adding a thick solid burner plate, but for now the side burner mostly does not get used.
* Lighted controls are mostly a gimmick. Fortunately they are LEDs, so corrosion should not be an issue and the batteries last for many hours. However, the lights only work on the four main burner controls, and are irritatingly bright when you happen to glance at the gap between the knob and the cabinet while reaching for the control. I added some white shrink tubing to the end of the LEDs to eliminate the latter issue, but overall the lighted controls offer limited benefit.
* Several other reviews mention a design flaw in the Summit grills which allows rainwater to flow from the back of the grill into the grease pan (making a big mess in the floor of the cabinet). Fortunately there is a simple fix. On our S-470 I put an aluminum flashing on the rear of the case using one of the bolts on each end of the grill box, similar to the way Weber handles water flow on the front. A 12" wide roll of aluminum flashing was only ten dollars at Lowes, and I cut it with scissors to fit. Now even if I forget to reinstall the cover, no water drips into the grease pan. This is not an issue with the Weber Genesis grills because the lid design is completely different (but one of the trade-offs is much lower interior space). Weber really should make something like this a running production change.
* Do *NOT* buy the Weber-brand grill cover. I like most of Weber's stuff, but their covers are very poor quality. Buy the Veranda BBQ Cart Cover instead. The 'Large' size fits the Summit 400-series perfectly, and the construction and design are far superior to the Weber covers.
Other considerations:
* These puppies use LOTS of gas! I am very glad that we were able to easily pipe natural gas to a convenient location. I can hardly imagine how fast we would be running through propane at >3x the cost!!
* If you are evaluating the stainless Genesis models, you really should consider the S-450 or S-470. The construction is substantially better and the finish will be much easier to maintain. Basically I would recommend sticking with the less expensive porcelain models, or stepping-up to the Summit grills. In addition to better materials, the front-to-back burners offer much more flexibility and control, and the side table is not covered with knobs.
* Check pricing. I buy a lot of stuff at Amazon, but we were able to find this grill for substantially (~20%) less at another reputable online vendor.
* The natural gas hose is quite thick and heavy, is apparently armored inside the PVC exterior coating, and comes with a good-quality brass 1/2" quick-disconnect. The connector on the end of the quick-disconnect is a female 1/2" IPS thread (i.e., standard steel pipe thread), so you need a male 1/2" IPS thread on the end of your supply line. Be sure to put a "O W G" (Oil/Water/Gas) rated ball valve immediately before the hose connection, and only use pipe dope or Teflon tape rated for use with gas.
* In California, galvanized pipe is *required* for outdoor gas use. According to PG&E, the western gas supply has very low levels of sulfur, so the old concerns about flaking and corrosion inside galvanized pipe are not an issue here in California.
* For rare situations where you need more grill capacity, consider the relatively inexpensive Rib-O-Lator. This is essentially a ferris-wheel with stainless trays, and will hold an amazing amount of food (and still leave parts of the grill available). There is at least one Rib-O-Lator (or Rib-O-Wheel) YouTube video with the Summit S-470, and the tall lid clearly helps. We use it mostly for ribs (surprise!), and ours fits easily inside the bottom cabinet when not in use.
* Not 100% made in USA. Several of the boxes inside the crate were clearly labeled "Made in China," including the rotisserie and both tables.
* Remove the door handles and the doors from the cabinet before removing the protective plastic coating. The doors snap-out easily if you depress the top pin, and the plastic coating is much easier to remove completely if the handles are not in the way. Each handle is held on by two Phillips-head screws and is very easy to reinstall.
* The crate weighs about 260 lbs, but if you remove the various boxes from inside the cabinet and fire-box, two people can remove the shell from the pallet. After that, you can easily roll the grill on any hard surface, and assembly is straightforward. The most tedious part of "assembly" was removing the protective plastic coating and collapsing all of the cardboard debris.

This is standard grill grate. NO flip-up sides as the description states. Not exactly what I wanted but it'll do. The handles cutdown on total grill surface area but do provide a medium size hole to drop in more charcoal. Hopefully someone at Amazon revises the item description.
My other half laughed at my excitement over these super nifty kebob skewers...but I had the last laugh after he tried them for the fist time. Sure, shish-kebobs are not exactly a high excitement item nor are they something you prepare every day of the week...which is why it's important to have a good set of kebob skewers available - make it fun rather than frustrating.
These work well and seem to survive washing in the dishwasher. The problem is that of the 4 I received in the set, only 3 were reasonably accurate. One was off by about 15 degrees. I'd give them 5 stars if Taylor had bothered to test them and make sure that they were accurate before packaging them. You can test them yourself like I did and throw away the bad one(s). But, you shouldn't have to do that.
I love this piece of equipment because it really works well.It does all that it says and is a breeze to clean.ONE caveat though: the black labels on the dials (eg. warm, etc., 300 degrees, etc., grill, off, griddle) wash off!!!I have rewritten them with permanent marker but that's not a viable option on the stainless surface.I have been reduced to making a template/mockup.At least my efforts are a testament to my fondness for the product -- I don't correct mistakes like this often.
I have only used the rotisserie unit twice - spinning chickens both times and the results were fabulous.(To those who have never done a rotisserie chicken at home and don't know why it could possibly be worth the bother (when grocery stores, Costco, etc. all have them) my only advice is that you really just need to try one done right.Then, do a leg of lamb, a beef roast, and you'll understand.)This is a powerful, quiet motor and a nice stainless spit.I loaded my first chicken relatively unevenly, and the motor put up no fuss at turning it.One comment, make sure when installing the motor braket you put the nuts inside the firebox - otherwise the lid of the grill will not shut.Great grill, great accessory.

These things are constructed so closely with OXO tongs they have to be made by the same plant.The only things that distinguish these from OXO good grips tongs are:
Received pan which was very tinny.The rack was broken at a solder point and was partially rusty.Not a good value at all.
This works well for places like condo decks, marinas, and RV parks. An easy-to-clean hot surface sears meats or slowly heats more delicate veggies. Outstanding design for form and function from Italy. 
It performed well initially. However, this is not a durable product. It stopped working within the first month. I take very good care of everything that I own. Stay away from this product.
After viewing several steak knife sets and reading their reviews, I decided to try the Outset QL90 Curtis Lloyd steak knives because it was a good price for 6 knives made of quality material. Griddle cakes and sausage, grilled salmon and vegetables, grilling burgers and toasting buns, the Cuisinart GR55 is a versatile compact counter top grill and griddle. The two double sided cooking plates are Teflon coated steel; they're easy to install and remove, and because the plates are non-stick and removable, they're a fast clean. I enjoy the fact can use both grill and griddle at the same time. This is great for cooking for my family, too, because it has plenty of grill surface. The plates always heat up evenly and quickly, and the temperature control gives me a ridiculous amount of control over my food's preparation. The excess grease, when using the grill side of things, runs off into a collection troth that neatly hides and stores inside the grill between the two plates. When releasing the spring-loaded plates from the grill, the rest grease gets collected in the troth as well. It's great to pull out on a lazy Saturday morning or for a quick meal before going out. I'm thoroughly impressed.
I've been looking to buy a smoker box for years but they were always a little too pricey. This one was at such a reasonable price that I was concerned that it would be flimsy. But it's not. It's sturdy and fits my grill perfectly. 
This is the newer model S670 #2780301.The previous model was 2780001 so check the number before ordering.I was planning on the smaller s470 but Northline express had a sale on the s670 for about the same price, so I jumped on it.It arrived by freight (free shipping) and the driver rolled it into my garage by himself with a special dolly. Plan on 2 or more people to help move it.My son and I moved it about 5 feet at a time working towards my backyard.
The grill was pretty easy to set up.Since my back yard is open and exposed, I will chain this beauty down...but there is no easy way to do that, I'll have to drill through the stainless steel.
It's really a pretty smoker...but I don't know if it works or not...there are missing parts.
Great pan for the price. Heavy duty and a good size. (My estimate is about 10 inches x 10 inches). It would be beneficial to include the actual dimensions in the listing since it was a concern of mine when I purchased it. After several Internet searches I never did find a size listing. I grilled veggies in this pan at Thanksgiving and was very happy with the result and clean up. Highly recommend this item.
This is the perfect replacement grate for all you folks out there who BBQ out the gazoo. When your grate starts looking crumbly (and not just because you never clean it), you know you're eating nearly as much stainless steel as steak. It's time to replace! This is the one! I researched lots of ways to make a great steak indoors and came upon this awesome website ([...]) that suggests using an all clad stainless steel pan.Instead of purchasing an indoor grill I decided on a great quality pan that can easily be cleaned and put away.Another bonus is that I don't have to worry about the controversial safety issues related to a nonstick coating that might wear off.I have a ceramic stove so I knew that cast iron was not an option even though it is a fine way to cook.This pan is fine quality and the price is more than fair.It distributes heat evenly and is easy to clean.I have read that it is best NOT to use cooking spray on stainless steel. Also, do NOT pour oil into the pan until it has been given sufficient time to heat up.Allow the pan to heat up at a normal rate.In other words, don't try to hasten the pre-heat process by turning the temp to high.Grapeseed oil is a perfect choice when cooking on high temperatures (as is suggested for this recipe).Combining the process described in the above website with this perfectlyengineered pan produced the best steak I have every had in my life.We used smoked sea salt flakes instead of regular sea salt to form the crust.Our family truly preferred steaks cooked this way even more than those we have had at some pretty fine restau]rants that are well known for great steaks!I can't believe I MADE A STEAK AT HOME THAT TASTED THAT AWESOME!!!!Great purchase!Beautiful pan!
I got this because I thought it would clean up well after grilling---wrong.I had to scour it for 15 minutes and there was still black baked-on stuff left on it.I will continue to use it, as it is sturdy, but I wish it cleaned up better.
Fits perfectly in the little smokey joe I've had forever! Now I can get a few more years out of it.
You will never regret you spent money on this one! It will serve you for ever and take any abuse from flame cooking you can think of. I had a bad experience with BBQ utensils made with plastic and wood handles: they crack, melt, break off. I switched to utensils made entirely of metal: my boys are very tough on utensils when cooking in the backyard. The size of this spatula is huge, you will use it to flip fish, large stakes or even 2 burgers at a time, the handle is also long enough to keep your hands away from the mess and fire.
This grill is fine for people with limited space, condo grill restrictions, or who hate messing with gas canisters or charcoal. Grill is adequate in size for a small family and heats quickly to a high temperature. In use, grill cooks well and cleans easily although I am not in love with the sleazy insulating pads used on the lid and grill proper.They don't look like they will last and I really don't see why they are needed. They get dirty the first time you use the unit. Don't expect to periodically clean the grill interior with a garden hose with these pads in place

This rib rack, Weber 6453 Style Rib Rack, is stainless steel and has adjustable slats.The other Weber rib rack, Weber 6406 Rib Rack, is nickel-plated steel and does not have adjustable slats.That is why one rack is more expensive than the other.
Recently purchased a Weber S-620. Another great Weber product. I tried a top of the line Sears stainless steel grill two years ago, but began having issues within one year. I won't make the same mistake again, and will just stay with Weber. You truly do get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

Piece of junk!Here's why.As the hot dogs cook and the natural juices fall, the rollers have no traction or friction to move along the BBQ grate. The roller rack slides along the grill grate like a sled on ice and the rollers do not move.Also,

We picked this up from Costco recently and are about to return it.
These Grill Charms are an absolute must if cooking meat.We use them for Steaks to know which one is well done (like the wife likes them) and which one is rare (for me).We no longer have to cut through the steak to find out which is which AND the chef doesn't have to remember which steak is supposed to be rare, medium or well done.Charm the steak and know how to cook that piece of meat.
I purchased this smoker box not only to use with my gas grill, but also to use with my gas fire pit.My wife complained that the fire pit produced no smoke and it didn't have that camp fire smoke smell.I have now fixed that problem by using this smoker box in my fire pit!I didn't give it a 5 star because I have only used it 3 times.So far so good!
I read the reviews on the other Weber BBQ tools and felt these would fit my needs best.I didn't want a fork as "they" always recommend against piercing the meat you are cooking, which causes the juices to escape. I can always use a brush for applying sauces and this ones long handled enough it's not going to get lost in the shuffle. It also has plenty of space to hold a fair amount of sauce among the silicon bristles. (Although I haven't used it yet, just bought this set 6/19, I feel very confident it should work just fine! I've used other BBQ tools and these are a definite improvement!)The spatula is big enough to turn the biggest burgers you'd ever probably want to make and should work fine for fish too.The tongs have a long gripping area, and one thing I learned from the reviews on other types of Weber sets is that it's nice to have the ability to keep the tongs 'closed' as this set does.The handles are all nice and long so your hands and arms are kept safely from the heat.The pieces all have large loops so you can hang these tools from almost any size hangars!Oh, and there's enough silicon on the handles so they're easy to grip and shouldn't slip!!
I bought this for my chef brother partly as a joke, but he was thrilled and has had a great time using it. Pan-fried, sauteed, or oven-baked whole fish have a bad habit of falling apart in turning or removing from the pan.This spatula is design perfectly to prevent that.Easy to clean and highly heat-resistant.Turns out to be a great idea.
My husband and I love this grill.This is actually a marine BBQ and meant for boats but we got it because we live in a small city apartment and it's perfect for our balcony and is landlord approved. 
At last a professional grill brush that does justice to the effort I put in to cooking on my bar-b-que and leaving the grill clean every time. A couple of wet stainless steel grill pads in the scrubber's mouth, a little back and forth action on the grill, I drop the pads into the dishwasher and I'm done. What I like with this product is that it cleans not just the top of the grill, but top and sides. No messing around with pads that have to be inserted into this or that holding device, no handling the greasy pads. No need for a separate wire brush. It's too easy. The spring grip is surprisingly strong and takes a little muscle but that shows the quality of the product. Having bought and tossed out so many other grill cleaning products, in my opinion this is a steal for $29.99. On our block my husband is "king of the grill," and this barbecue turner is his scepter.He gestures with it, wraps on the dinner bell with it, best of all he cooks the very best burgers with it.
First, I should point out that this grill requires assembly, and the assembly is not easy.In fact, I had to live with several screws missing since it was simply impossible to get them in.
It's difficult for me to give this item a specific number of stars, because though I ordered it from Amazon and received it. . . I returned it and didn't use it.So I'm giving it 3 stars.That's not to say it's not a good item, it just wasn't for me.Let me explain why. . . . .
I bought this for my bf for a christmas gift.He likes to bbq on a little propane grill. I guess I should have read the measurements of the tools. They are more suited for a huge grill. But its better than them being tiny. Good quality build. Might want to buy a nicer package to put them in if giving as a gift.
2 of the 3 tools that come with this product are amazing.The tongs are very strange though.You'll have to buy another set of tongs but at this price it's ok.
